The society was founded by a group of Cranfield School of Management students in October 2018, in the absence of any such society existing previously. We aim on supporting the development and knowledge of our members, thus our mission statement:

"The goal of the Finance Society is to develop a platform that is open to students of all disciplines at Cranfield University, allowing them to learn from each other and develop a better understanding of the financial industry and of finance as a whole."

We try to achieve our goal via different kinds events, such as presentations, and via our Investment Group, which gives our members the chance to work on their technical and presentation skills as well as the opportunity to contribute to the development of our virtual portfolio.

Finally, the club consists of one committee and a set of portfolio members. The Committee is responsible for the organization of events and all other duties involved in the smooth running of the society itself. The portfolio members are  responsible for the CFS portfolio.
